We have lots of experience in helping people buying and selling properties, there are literally thousands of useful property articles available, for FREE. 1st Associated use independent chartered surveyors working for you not the banks, not the estate agents and not the mortgage lenders. 1st Associated provides information on all types of building surveys both for residential property surveys and commercial property surveys including building surveys, structural surveys, homebuyers' reports and engineers' reports.
During the course of our building surveys as surveyors we look and examine the floors and we open them up if at all possible without causing damage (with the owners approval of course) as floors often show the first signs of structural problems (when a floor bounces up and down) and even creaks can be indications of problems. Also as we have been carrying out building surveys, also known as structural surveys, for decades we know the characteristics of various different types of properties and what to look out for when there are problems with floors.
We recommend that everyone buying a property reads our Beautiful Na´ve Thoughts article. This was written a few decades ago when we first started to understand the complicated game that is buying a house. In fact we would also add the word monopoly in some cases, particularly where the Estate Agents are owned by Banks, Building Societies or Mortgage Lenders as are the Surveyors and Solicitors. This is why we would always recommend having an Independent Surveyor carry out your survey.
