July 2003 to September 2003 Personal Statement I recently found my chosen degree extremely interesting and now want to ensure that my career after graduation will be set on a firm foothold by undertaking my APC with a Company who specialize in Property Management and Construction, in order to gain a wide range of experience in this field. Having short employment with PH Warr plc as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, I have knowledge about commercial management of construction and cost planning. My job involved contract practice, dealing with latest construction technologies and environmental services as well as procurement, tendering, project financial control and reporting. I have always been interested in design and construction developments. From taking my AVCE Built Environment at Burton College I am familiar with land surveying but would like to obtain experience in other areas of the profession in order to achieve my professional competence and ultimately the RICS status. I am reliable and have a good sense of responsibility. My level of maturity and dedication has been shown throughout my degree and time at University. My passion, self reliant nature and versatility, gives me a good stand to become a success in the surveying world. I am a team player and get on with people well and enjoy a challenge. I hold a full driving license and own my own car. I am not afraid of hard work and realise that a graduate APC position is hard to find, so I know that I must make every effort to be a valuable member of my employer’s staff who have given me the opportunity of furthering my career.
