We have asked Richard at Hocking Associates to undertake Building Survey Reports for us twice in the last 6 years. Once for our listed Thatched cottage, that is now our home, and recently for a student let investment property purchase. Richard was able to undertake both jobs within just a few days and furnished us with very comprehensive digital (plus hard copies) of the reports. Not only have those reports given us a full breakdown of the structural soundness of the potential purchase (in an easy to understand format) they have served to act as a to do list for the next few years of owning that property, as well as giving me a very useful list of questions to go through with our conveyancer. Using Hocking Associates has really allowed us to buy with our eyes wide open and with confidence. Richard has also been hugely helpful answering questions about any issues that we found complicated and outside our areas of expertise, and happily gave us very pragmatic ideas re: potential solutions. He really couldnt have been more helpful. I will absolutely ask Hocking Associates to survey our next property purchase, I highly recommend them.

Very impressed with the service we were provided by Richard. The report on our purchase was incredibly thorough and extensive, and we really appreciated his knowledge on the period of our home, as well as advising how much the property could be worth after renovation. Richard called my partner immediately to relay his findings. We also received the report via email the day after the survey had taken place, as well as a bound hard copy in the post. Highly recommend his services, and his assistant Sue was so polite and efficient. I would go as far to say that many of these negative reviews are very far-fetched as costs for services were transparent and Richard has been freely available to give us more information at no extra cost.

We had an excellent service form Hocking Associates from start to finish. We had a verbal summary the same day with the full email report by 9am the next morning, the written report followed in the post. The question. we had over the report we answered and it was good to have someone to talk it through. Very competent and would highly recommend to anyone buying a house.
