A topographical survey or land survey is a detailed accurate plan drawing identifying both natural and man-made features within a specified area. The plan will show all features such as buildings, boundaries, services covers and site levels. Normally presented digitally in CAD format, we are also able to provide scaled paper copies. 
Following a measured building survey request we initially assess the building structure in order to find the quickest and most accurate method to provide you with a cost effective solution. We have a wealth of experience of measured building surveys on varying projects from houses to schools, hospitals, retail stores, churches and heritage sites. We can provide you with remote surveying techniques for sensitive or inaccessible detail, by using laser scanning and reflectorless total stations. 
High definition surveying, or 3D laser scanning, can provide you with a more enhanced and versatile measured survey solution. The technique remotely captures data on site, making it particularly useful in areas that are difficult to measure and areas of highly ornate detail, which also eliminates access or health and safety issues. It enables us to provide you with a highly sophisticated, efficient and cost effective survey service for your project, to millimetre accuracy. 
At Terrain Surveys we have vast experience in engineering surveying and we use the latest technology available to provide you with an accurate and cost effective service. All of our surveyors have the appropriate CSCS cards, ensuring access to all sites. All of our work is also covered by the appropriate levels of Professional Indemnity Insurance, and we provide free advice and consultation on any project.

We recently commissioned Terrain Surveys to comprehensively survey a complex group of grade II* listed religious buildings designed by the Victorian architect G.E. Street, and the surrounding landscape. Clearly we required a very high degree of accuracy and careful attention to detail to support what will inevitably prove to be a difficult application for planning approval I have to say that we were delighted with the finished result.
The survey was tremendously accurate, clear, well organised and thorough. It was also beautifully drawn and gave a true sense of the quality of the buildings that the drawings described.
