AVOID! This company do not know what they are doing. They sent an under experienced under educated surveyor round and decided that a fully refurbished, beautiful 2 bed flat in one of the most desirable postcodes in Leeds, which had been earning over 1000 every month for around 18 months on Airbnb was "unsustainable" and valued at 0. Waste of time, charged me 450 for the pleasure and the only result I have is lost money for solicitors, estate agents, brokers etc etc as the purchase I was trying to make will now surely fall through.

I have tried to speak to them and make a complaint however I was told I wasn't allowed to speak to anyone and must go through my broker (despite me paying them directly and receiving confirmation messages from them). The stress I have dealt with as a result of this company's incompetence has had a genuine impact on my overall health and well being. Do NOT use this company if you want to do well in life.

Surveyor D Whitby came to do survey on our home. Next day i noticed back gate of backyard had been forced open the wrong way. Thinking thieves were trying to break in overnight, I reviewed CCTV footage to find above named individual using brute force to open the gate that clearly did not open the way he was pulling. But what infuriated me the most though is that he didn't even have the decency to tell us he'd forced the back gate and just left it wedged open and unlocked, knowing full well that we have young kids in the house that would play outside (my three year old was at home while survey was being done) and that could have innocently got out, we live in city centre surrounded by busy roads. 1 star rating is too generous for this despicable person and company.

I had submitted a mortgage application and the lender had instructed Connells to complete the valuation. After reading the reviews, I have been stressing out and so anxious that they would undervalue and we would lose the house. We have just received our mortgage offer, no undervaluation and the valuation survey clearly submitted quickly as it was only carried out yesterday. I don't normally leave reviews, however, I wanted to add this one as I believe people are less likely to leave good reviews and more likely to review when they feel they have had a negative experience. I had absolutely nothing to worry about and feel that some of the negative reviews may have been home owners with an inflated idea of what their house is worth.

Having read all the negative reviews, I was really worried about having Connell's as valuers. However, the lady that came was very nice, very efficient and very professional. Absolutely no problems, they even allowed me to change my appointment a couple of times without a fuss. I don't normally leave reviews but I am just offering this as an alternative perspective to stop people worrying, as I did, after reading all the bad reviews! They are a huge company and these negative reviews clearly only represent a tiny proportion of the valuations they give on a weekly basis.
